Experience the unique apartments of Finlandia Hall – functional aesthetics and the atmosphere of a Finnish home

Experience Finnish design and architecture in the spirit of Alvar Aalto. These historic apartments combine functional aesthetics with the atmosphere of a Finnish home – the perfect choice for those who appreciate design and cultural heritage. Our accommodation apartments are located in Finlandia Hall, a masterpiece of Finnish architecture.  

The apartments intended for Finlandia Hall employees have been renovated to their original state and decorated with respect for Aalto’s style, combining modern classics with the building’s original furniture. 

Our guests can enjoy gems of Finnish design and art, such as Helsinki Art Museum HAM artworks. There is a separate access to the apartments opposite Hesperianpuisto. Unfortunately, our protected apartments are not fully accessible. 

The Aino apartment (57 m²) offers a calm and harmonious atmosphere, dominated by a blue colour scheme. This spacious apartment is located near Töölönlahti Bay and reflects Aino Aalto’s easy-going and elegant style. Finnish design, Artek lighting and original furniture create the perfect setting for relaxation.

Elissa apartment (45 m²) represents a strong and bold design with fiery colours, such as the intense red of the living room. Located near Mannerheimintie, this apartment reflects energy and vitality. Pets are welcome in this unique apartment for the price of a small cleaning fee.

The delicious breakfast includes:

  • coffee/tea (filter coffee)
  • a glass of Pohjolan Hedelmä‘s organic juice or smoothie (according to the selection of the day)
  • Pistachio croissant or slices of bread (according to the selection of the day)
  • Fresh porridge or berry salad+granola (according to the selection of the day)
  • Helsinki Meijeri’s cheeses (Töölö and Linnunlaulu)
  • We reserve the right to make changes. Breakfast available at Finlandia Cafe & Wine Mon-Fri 9-11.

The price of breakfast is 19,90€.Breakfast is not included in the price of the apartments. We reserve the right to make changes.

You can also order breakfast in your room when booking your room. (Available as a separate add-on service at selected times). Breakfast is brought to the room in advance and placed in the fridge & kitchen to wait for you.

Where are the apartments located? 

Finlandia Hall is located in the heart of Helsinki, about 500 m from the railway station towards the north, on the shore of Töölönlahti Bay. Finlandia Homes, i.e. both apartments, are located at the northern end of Finlandia Hall, the entrance is from Hesperia Park. The address is Mannerheimintie 13 e.

When can I enter the apartment I booked?

3 hours before your stay, you will receive a code to the mobile phone number you have entered in the booking details.

The door does not open/the door does not lock 

Please read the instructions carefully. Please note that snow does not remain in the gap in the door, it limits locking. If you have any problems, call the Finlandia Hall service point 040-1441511 or Avarn outside the building’s opening hours at +358 10 620 2000.

Where can I park my car? 

Under Finlandia Hall is Finlandia Park (Aimo park). From there, take the elevator to the 2nd floor of Finlandia Hall (main lobby) during the building’s opening hours. Walk from there to the info desk where you will get additional guidance on the accommodation.

If you arrive outside opening hours, the elevator will leave you on floor 0. From there, walk along the edge of Finlandia Hall towards the north and Töölönlahti. When you see the sea, walk up the stairs at the north end.

What address do I give to a taxi? 

You can give a taxi the address Mannerheimintie 13 e and, coming from the south direction, drive along the park route to the northern end of the courtyard of Finlandia Hall. Attention: there are no parking spaces in the front yard, illegal parking will be fined.

If you do not have heavy luggage, the taxi can also be left at the top of the main staircase at Mannerheimintie in Finlandia Hall.

How do I arrive on foot or by public transport?

In front of Finlandia Hall on Mannerheimintie there is a tram stop, the name of the stop is the National Museum. Lines 4 and 10 stop there. Walk down the stairs, the apartments are located at the north end of the building, entrance from Hesperia Park.

If you come by train, the walk from the station is about 15 min. Walk all the way to the shore of Töölönlahti Bay and climb to the apartments by the stairs at the north end (west of the terrace of Little Finlandia).

Is the apartment accessible?

Finlandia Hall’s accommodation apartments were originally employees’ apartments in the 1970s. They have now been restored without changing the old layout. Unfortunately, they are not accessible.

What services are available nearby?

Pikku-Finlandia’s café will be open for another year (closed until 3.2.), you can find its opening hours here. In connection with Finlandia Hall’s Cafe&Wine there is a Design Shop where you can find ceramic works by the Arabia Art Society, Finlandia Collection products and other Finnish products as a memento of an overnight stay. Finlandia Hall has curated a fairly large exhibition of about 70 works from the collections of the Helsinki City Art Museum. Paintings, sculptures and photographic art by the most famous Finnish artists are on display. The works are partly located in spaces open to the public, some of the works can be rented separately in event spaces. The lobby features Birger Kaipiainen’s The Swan and Kim Simonsson’s Ghost II, as well as Alvar Aalto’s portrait, a work by Heikki Häiväoja.

Move in nature! Explore the scenic area of Töölönlahti. Rare birds nest in Töölönlahti Bay, such as the crested grebe and the coot. The walking tour around the bay is about 2 km. On the opposite shore you can see the Linnunlaulu villa area, whose buildings date back to the 1800s. The City Garden is located on the other side of Helsinginkatu, close to the Opera.

More culture! The immediate surroundings of Finlandia Hall are also home to the Central Library Oodi, Villa Hakasalmi, the Helsinki Music Centre, the Opera House and the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma.
