Open doors at Finlandia Hall

Please note that, unfortunately, only the guided tours are available in English.

Welcome to the Finlandia Hall on Saturday, January 25th, when the building opens its doors for a fun-filled and open event for everyone!

There will be activities for all ages: for children, there’s a knowledge trail and an obstacle course, with the prize being a piece of the Finlandia Hall’s marble – a bit like archaeology, but fun! On the Piazza, the PÄISTIKKA Duo will invite the children to sing and dance, because what could be more fitting for Finlandia Hall’s legacy than music and dance?

For adults, there will be interesting lectures and discussions exploring the building’s history and its iconic features. Guides from the Aalto Foundation will lead you inside the hall, reveal its secrets, and explain what the renovation brought with it.
And the best part – the entire program is completely free! (Except for the coat check services, but that’s a small price for such an experience!)

The new Café&Wine café and design store will be open, so you can also do some delicious shopping and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Come and experience Finlandia Hall – Aalto’s icon – in a completely new way!

Children’s Program 10:30 AM – 2:00 PM (The program will be specified closer to the event)

In the Helsinki Hall, there will be discussions and memories about Finlandia Hall:

Lecture 1:
12:00 PM–1:00 PM / Finlandia Hall, Helsinki’s Iconic Landmark
Professor Laura Kolbe will initiate a discussion, to which we invite the audience to participate by sharing their own memories and experiences of Finlandia Hall.

Lecture 2:
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM / I Love the Human in You
On stage: Heikki Aalto-Alanen, Virpi Suutari, and Kirsti Manninen

How Heikki Aalto-Alanen’s book about his grandparents, Virpi Suutari’s Aalto documentary, and the upcoming Finlandia Hall exhibition connect and support each other.
